Both Spring and Autumn are favored by travelers, with Autumn is a particularly busy period as this is when most of the main festivals in Kathmandu are held. Tribhuvan International Airport is the main airport in Kathmandu just outside of the city and offers flights to destinations across Asia. Travelers flying from the UAE are able to travel from Dubai with flydubai and Nepal Airlines or from Abu Dhabi International Airport with Etihad Airways and Himalaya Airlines. Additionally, Air Arabia operates flights from Sharjah Airport to Kathmandu. Getting from the airport around Kathmandu is possible by taxi, although many hotels offer shuttle services of their own. You can also rent a car in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu Travel Information

Nationals from most countries including the UAE will be required to get a tourist visa upon arriving in Nepal for a period of either 15, 30 or 90 days. At the airport there are automated booths travelers can use as part of the visa process to help speed things along. In Nepal the currency used is the Nepalese rupee. Prices in Kathmandu are far cheaper than Dubai for almost everything, so you can easily have an incredible time without having to worry about your budget running out early.
