Here are some of the things that you should know about travelling if you are a woman who is planning to have a trip alone or if you are physically challenged. Also, listed below are tips on how to deal with jet lag.

Tips for Women

Some people tend to become weary with the thought of travelling. How much more for women who will embark on a journey alone? So here are some things that women should keep in mind when they have an unaccompanied trip.

  • Leave valuables behind. Thieves have their eyes fixed on women who are wearing shiny jewelries and who are by themselves.
  • Practice the proper body language. Always walk straight and walk smart. You should not make it obvious if you are lost or confused of where to go.
  • Wear decent outfits. It is nice to stand out but not if you are all by yourself in a foreign country. It is best if you are dress in modest clothing that does not show a lot of skin.
  • Be prepared. Do not put all your money in your wallet. Try to place something in your socks or inside a money belt. So just in case your wallet or bag gets stolen, you will still have enough money to go back to your hotel.

Tips for the Physically Challenged

It is never an easy endeavor to travel alone if you are disabled. But if you really want to have that independent experience, here are some of the things that you must put into mind.

  • Plan ahead. Check out destinations, plane rides and hotels that are manageable for you. It would be better if you get help from travel agents. Be sure that your itinerary is not too cluttered and grueling for you.
  • Plane ride. If you prefer to travel with your wheelchair on board, then check-in as early as possible because airlines allow only one wheelchair per flight. In addition to that, it is better if your seat is on the aisle so it will be trouble-free for you to go to the rest room if you need to.
  • Ask for assistance. Whether it be on the plane or during your tour, do not be hesitant to ask some help from the people. Just explain to them your situation and they will be willing to give you a hand.

Tips to Avoid Jet Lag

Jet lag is one of the major concerns of people who are travelling to a different time zone. Sometimes, this condition will ruin the fun you are expecting to get from the trip because it saps the energy you need to stay active. You can avoid or lessen the effects of jet lag.

  • Eat less and drink plenty. Do not stuff yourself with a heavy meal before your flight. Drink lots of water as well. Do not go for coffee.
  • Set the time. Before you leave, set your watch to the time of the place you are going to. In that case, you will be able to get used to the time.
  • Get some sleep. The key to having an energized body is to get some sleep before you leave. If it is possible, you should also take a nap on the plane. Upon arrival to your destination, grab some rest so you will be lively during the tour.

Travel tips are always found everywhere. You may get a handful of help from others who have experienced traveling. Do not ever make a trip without preparing yourself for possibilities.
